I had to laugh out loud as I read your post and looked back over the years. I have a scar on my forehead as well. It turns out that trying to race my little brother around a sharp corner wasn’t such a good idea. I also recall that some nasty scars my appear when an inexperienced 15 year old attempts to shave her legs for the first time!

As I read, I couldn’t help but think about a few of the emotional scars I’ve experienced as well. Cruel words or betrayal often leave invisible scars. Though those injuries aren’t fresh, the scars yet remain.

Like you, I’m learning to be thankful for those scars. I learned much needed lessons as a result of them and God has used them to get my attention as well.

I would say purity, modesty included, developing a passionate relationship to Christ, Biblical womanhood…what that looks like now and how can she be the woman God created her to be. I agree with Betsy on not competing and comparing in any areas. THe GOSPEL is not a FORMULA…
Hmm…I will keep thinking, but I just want to say I can’t WAIT to see what you come up with! What a great thing! I am excited about it! Keep us posted!

Self Image, Male/Female relationships, Fighting cultural influences with a Biblical World view, Modesty/Biblical Femininity, Vulnerablity in girl relationships/loyality/value of good friends, Celebrating unique gifting God gives, not comparing or competing, dispelling princess mentality by understanding relationship with King of Kings, understanding the way God createdand wired boys/men.. i will think on some more, but raising 2 girls these topics come really easily! So what genre would this music be considered? Is it overtly Christian? Or just not overly secular? Tough question probably as what I heard fits somewhere in between R&B and jazz / vocals. Wondering where Jazmin Sullivan fits too. I listened to both online but the clips cut off after about 30 seconds so I can’t get a good feel for the song and the albums. Just wondering.

I’d also be interested in what you (FM / Rick) are doing these days on Sunday. I’m back in mainly K-Love land and miss the richness of FM music diversity.
