Will You Dance with Me?

I received this in an email today and thought it was good enough to share…enjoy.

Will You Dance With Me?

READ THIS VERY SLOWLY…. IT’S PRETTY PROFOUND.

Too many people put off something that brings them joy just because they haven’t thought about it, don’t have it on their schedule, didn’t know it was coming or are too rigid to depart from their routine. I got to thinking one day about all those women on the Titanic who passed up dessert at dinner that fateful night in an effort to cut back. From then on, I’ve tried to be a little more flexible.

How many women out there will eat at home because their husband didn’t suggest going out to dinner until after something had been thawed? Does the word ‘refrigeration’ mean nothing to you?

How often have your kids dropped in to talk and sat in silence while you watched ‘Jeopardy’ on television?

I cannot count the times I called my sister and said, ‘How about going to lunch in a half hour?’ She would gas up and stammer, ‘I can’t. I have clothes on the line. My hair is dirty. I wish I had known yesterday, I had a late breakfast, It looks like rain.’ And my personal favorite: ‘It’s Monday.’ She died a few years ago. We never did have lunch together.

Because Americans cram so much into their lives, we tend to schedule our headaches. We live on a sparse diet of promises we make to ourselves when all the conditions are perfect! We’ll go back and visit the grandparents when we get Steve toilet-trained. We’ll entertain when we replace the living-room carpet… We’ll go on a second honeymoon when we get two more kids out of college. Life has a way of accelerating as we get older. The days get shorter, and the list of promises to ourselves gets longer. One morning, we awaken, and all we have to show for our lives is a litany of ‘I’m going to,’ ‘I plan on,’ and ‘Someday, when things are settled down a bit.’

When anyone calls my ‘seize the moment’ friend, she is open to adventure and available for trips. She keeps an open mind on new ideas. Her enthusiasm for life is contagious. You talk with her for five minutes, and you’re ready to trade your bad feet for a pair of Roller blades and skip an elevator fo r a bungee cord.

My lips have not touched ice cream in 10 years. I love ice cream. It’s just that I might as well apply it directly to my stomach with a spatula and eliminate the digestive process The other day, I stopped the car and bought a triple-Decker. If my car had hit an iceberg on the way home, I would have died happy.

Now…go on and have a nice day. Do something you WANT to…..not something on your SHOULD DO list.

If you were going to die soon and had only one phone call you could make, who would you call and what would you say? And why are you waiting?

Have you ever watched kids playing on a merry go round or listened to the rain lapping on the ground?

Ever followed a butter fly’s erratic flight or gazed at the sun into the fading night?

Do you run through each day on the fly? When you ask ‘ How are you?’ Do you hear the reply?

When the day is done, do you lie in your bed with the next hundred chores running through your head?

Ever told your child, ‘We’ll do it tomorrow.’ And in your haste, not see his sorrow?

Ever lost touch? Let a good friendship die? Just call to say ‘Hi?

When you worry and hurry through your day, it is like an unopened gift….Thrown away….. Life is not a race Take it slower. Hear the music before the song is over.

Life may not be the party we hoped for… but while we are here we might as well dance!

Yoga

I’ve been doing some exercising at home, and Jaxon tries his best to try to do sit-ups and push-ups too.  He recently tried to enter into the world of yoga!  Here is his Tree pose.

Potty Training…Day 5

Well, today was church and a birthday party, so needless to say, the diaper was on all day.  We’ll hit it again tomorrow!

Happy Birthday Mary Blakely and Jaxon!

Potty Training…Day 4

Today we had no accidents….WOO HOO!!!!!  Except for one.  I must now train my son to keep his, um, his, um, his little jaxon inside the potty, so that when he does peepee, the peepee does not go on the floor, but in the potty!  :)

Seriously though, Jaxon did a good job.  Only hiccup was when he needed to poop and I tried to encourage him to go on the potty (since he was already sitting there).  He balked at that idea and started asking for a diaper (he didn’t say those words, it was more like him pointing to where his diapers were and saying “poopoo”).  Any advice on this?

Day 5…we’ll see

Potty Training…Day 3

So, today wasn’t as good as yesterday.  I must confess, I lost it with my son.  But, praise God, that Christ’s love covers a multitude of sins!  So we took a break from training after nap.  It was all me…I forgot that I accidentally prayed for patience during this process.  Oh the Lord has a WONDERFUL sense of humor!  Tomorrow is a new day with NEW mercies!!!

Day 4…we’re coming for ya!

Potty Training…Day 2

We had a fairly good day. He went pee-pee on the potty either 3 or 4 times. He did, however, wait until his diaper was on to go pooh-pooh. No big deal for me, except that was a waste of a good diaper! ;-)

Day 3 here we come…

Potty Training…Day 1

This is the day the Lord has made I will rejoice and be glad in it…or something like that!  I’ve decided to chronicle my potty training experience.  Just as a reminder, mainly for myself, of the goodness of God, when he finally gets it!  He we go…day one!

trythis

I promise he was excited!

However, things got a little rough at the last potty break before nap…

p2180006p2180007

Poor child fell asleep ON the potty!  He did go pee-pee on the potty though!!!

By the end of the day, Jaxon did pee-pee on the potty twice (out of the 4 times that he went on the floor) AND he did pooh-pooh on the potty too).

Pray for me as we enter into day 2…

A Birthday Prayer for Jaxon

My baby boy turned two yesterday!!!  I should have posted this yesterday, but my thoughts were all over the place and the post would have come out like this: jakhe’aenkln alkerjeifkal;lkdjfi nakdlflkje takh’lkd birthday, akhdf;rht eakdhf, Jaxon, dkahfeoihfe fenkhoiarher grateful adnlf;ke ahrnel…blah blah blah!  Let’s face it, I’m no Chris Hill…so eloquent of speech!  But I do try my best!  So here goes.  Sorry for not creating a link for the all the pics, but you have no idea how difficult it will be for me to tell certain family members how to see the pics.  I digress…moving forward…

My Precious Son,

The day that I found out that I was pregnant was a day that Christ’s Sovereignty became MORE real to me.  The dr’s said that there was a good chance that I wouldn’t be able to get pregnant.  But God said…

The day that I first saw your heart beating on the sonogram, my heart leaped!  There was a VISUAL answer to prayer.  The dr’s said that I would have to take all kinds of stuff in order to even be able to ovulate.  But God said…

The evening that I was lying in bed praying for you, I asked the Lord your gender.  A peace fell over me and I whispered boy.  That was at 16 weeks, confirmation was at 20 weeks.  The dr’s said that the first round of clomid hadn’t worked and I needed to up the dosage.  But God said…

On February 16, 2007, Dr. Chauhan placed you on my chest and through tears I called you by name: Jaxon Crawford Trotter.  Rick took you and sang “Great is Thy Faithfulness” to you and not a whimper fell from you lips.  My dad held you in his arms, and as he had done with his other grandchildren, he spoke Joshua 1:8-9 over you.  What a wonderful scene of your grandfather speaking the Truth over you!

jaxon-and-parentsJaxon, since that time, you have brought more joy to my life than I dare to try to describe.  You have filled my heart with gladness!  I love the way you love me and give me hugs and kisses and still want me to hold you.  I cherish those moments because I know there is going to be a day where you won’t want me…you’re already starting to get so independent. But, my son, please remember that I am never too far away!

pc290086I love that you love your daddy!  I love that you look for him and when he’s not there, you ask for him!  I pray that you will always want to know where he is and know that he is always near…  You’re his biggest fan, and I think that your daddy needs to know that.  So one day, when you speak CLEAR English, please tell him.  Until then, keep hugging, kissing, cuddling, and telling him “I YU You Dew”!

pb050031

You have been such a blessing with Ashlyn.  You treat her with such gentle hands.  I can tell that you will protect her and watch over her.  I love how she starts smiling when she sees you.  I pray you two become the best of friends and that there is a bond between you that no one will be able to break!

p9100049p1260003Above how I want you to never loose your loving spirit, gentleness, desire to explore and figure out how things work, caring for others, friendliness, etc., I pray that you know my Savior!  As you choose the path to take, I pray the Lord the choice you make.  I want you to live, to think, to be, just the way that pleases He.  Please be wise in every choice!  I pray that you hear the Lord’s voice!  I pray that you have a heart for Him and that He will make you a mighty man of Valor!  I am so excited to see where you go on this journey.  I’m here to help guide you and protect you, but ultimately YOU have to choose the Lord for yourself.  I pray that you know Him at an early age.  I want you to be constantly chasing after Him…seeking Him!  I pray that His Word is alive to you and you see His lovingkindess poured out through the Sacred Scriptures.  I love you so much and there is a lot that I want to share with you.  But above all, I want you to know my Savior!

Thank you for being the most precious little boy!  You have the biggest smile I have ever seen…keep smiling!

p2110018Happy Birthday Jaxon.  I have been praying the words of this song over you this week.  I pray that you will forever be chasing after Christ!

Lyrics:

Each and every day
I will seek Your face
my soul is crying out for more
I want more of You
Oh, I won’t be satisfied
Nor content
if where I am
So I won’t aprehend
till I’m captured by what I’m after

And I will go from faith to faith
From glory to glory
And I’ll forever be chasing after You
I’ll be chasing after You

I will press toward the mark
For the prize
And I won’t faint
Theres one thing I desire
And that’s what I’m going for
I can’t continue life
Day by day
growing dry
I need to be with You (Jesus)
I’ll seek where you are

And I will go from faith to faith
From glory to glory

And I’ll forever be chasing after You
i’ll be chasing after you )

And I will go from faith to faith
from glory to glory

And I’ll forever be chasing after You
I’ll be chasing after you

In the spirit of Valentine’s Day…this is for my husband!

“The Truth” by India.Arie

Let me tell you why I love him

Cause he is the truth
Said he is so real
And I love the way that he makes me feel
And if I am a reflection of him then I must be fly because
His light it shines so bright I wouldn’t lie no

I remember the very first day that I saw him
I found myself immediately intrigued by him
It’s almost like I knew this man from another life
Like back then maybe I was his husband maybe he was my wife
And even, things I don’t like about him are fine with me
Cause it’s not hard for me to understand him cause he’s so much like me
And it’s truly my pleasure to share his company
And I know that it’s God’s gift to breathe
The air he breathes

Cause he is the truth
Said he is so real
And I love the way that he makes me feel
And if I am a reflection of him then I must be fly because
His light it shines so bright I wouldn’t lie (no)ohhhhhhhhh!

How can the same man that makes me so mad
Do you know what he did-(Spoken)
Turn right around and kiss me so soft
Girl do you know what he did-(Spoken)
If he ever left me I wouldn’t even be sad no
Cause there’s a blessin’ in every lesson
And I’m glad that I knew him at all

Cause he is the truth
Said he is so real
And I love the way that he makes me feel
And if I am a reflection of him then I must be fly because
His light it shines so bright no

I love the way he speaks
I love the way he thinks
I love the way that he treats his mama
I love that gap in between his teeth
I love him in every way that a woman can love a man
From personal to universal but most of all
It’s unconditional
